Beauty in simplicity not necessarily meaning the amount in the photo but rather what is in the photo.

Simple can often be confused with minimal. While minimal can be beautiful I think that beauty in simplicity can refer to the photo itself or the objects in the photo. Allow me to explain, I had originally planned to go shoot a beautiful Gazebo photo and some other landscapes till I happened on these fallen apples on the ground. I decided that I really liked the lighting and colors all around as the apples had fallen into some fallen leaves. I began to notice the light coming through the trees and beautiful blue sky. What a great bokeh background that’d make. Rather than going for the original plan I found myself shooting the objects in my surroundings I had found myself in. These weren’t extravagant things of great value but things that made for a beautiful simple photo. Try finding the beauty in simplicity in some of your subjects.

One of my classmates, Naomi Sweet is so great at this I think. Her pictures are always beautiful and she finds some of the best things to shoot that are so simple.
